Whats the matter Chris, no winter wheeling for you?

I'm gonna try to limit my winter wheeling. I really, really don't like riding the jeep like a toboggan backwards down hills. Twice is too much for me.

Plus this winter is gonna be a build winter. Bumpers (front and rear), rock rails, quasi exo-cage/tube fenders on the rear, complete led conversion (exterior and interior), body lift, perhaps some sort of suspension lift (if I can afford it), some interior work (full cage, roller storage for tow straps, overhead console, upgraded stereo, perhaps even a computer in there).

So between work, and building schtuff for the jeep, plus trying to get the broomball team to qualify for Nationals and perhaps the Olympics, and some skiing - its gonna be a busy winter.

So, not much winter wheeling for me. I'll prolly do a few McLean runs when the ice comes out, at least then some trails should be a lot less challenging without the mud, but a lot more challenging cause I haven't been out there much this year, and from the few runs I have seen, the rains this year made them a LOT different.

But I'll be there sunday! I might ask for a wake up call at 7am, cause I'm slated to work saturday night.

Cheers
Chris

Chains. I believe Dom picked up some at Greggs for  $125 for 31's It shouldn't cost much more for 33's.  Those are some pretty ambitious plans there Chris. I'm still waiting to see the outcome of the GAMP meetings before I spend any money on my TJ.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

Ian, I hear you there, I sold all my SAS parts and am waiting as well to see what the GAMP gets us.  No sense building a trail rig if a CRV will make it through all the trails we're left with.  See you Sunday.

booo you guys.............................

Of all the things to crush a hobby, that has to be the weakest excuse I've heard. No offense, but we are pretty spoiled by how much wheeling we have available to us in an hours drive. There are plenty of people in this sport that have no wheeling any closer then 4 hours. That doesnt stop them.

I understand the frustration guys, but we will always have somewhere's to wheel. Even if we do have to drive a little further then now, just like 90% of other 4 wheelers.

sorry, end rant

oh, p.s.

when are yall gonna learn your lesson about sunday runs

Good point Bill and I guess you're right.

As for the Sunday runs, some of us aren't lucky enough to have wives that like wheeling.  I need to plan it around a day when she already has plans.

Well, as far as I know; all of us are from Calgary.
But if you are coming down for the Sunday run from Edmonton, you can meet us at the Smitty's in Cochrane at 8am. Or out at the Gravel pit in Waiparous at 9:30 or so.

Cheers

It's raining

I said I would go rain or shine, but this is a little more rain than I was anticipating. What are your thoughts? My original plan was to stay on the hard packed trails such as mockingbird and Margaret Lake trails. So maybe the rain won't affect us much.

I'm either way.  If you guys still want to go I'll go, otherwise I have a lot of work I should be doing otherwise.  You make the call and I'm sure we'll be able to live with it. .....Steve

I'll be there for breakfast and will decide from there if I make the trip or not.  If it's going to rain all day I'd rather get some stuff done at home than cruise around the easy trails and burn up $60 in fuel.  I'd still like to talk to Scott though so I'll see you at 8. ....Steve

I'll be at breakfast as well, I'll make my call then. If its still raining come breaky, then I'm pretty sure I'll pass. But time will tell...

Ian, can you call me at 7am to make sure I'm out of bed? :D

Cheers
