Title: Getting lifted in Calgary - KJ 02
Post by: kIT on December 26, 2008, 11:35:35 PM
Hey guys, I'm new to this and I'm no tech oriented.   My buddy recommended that I go to Modern to get my lift done on my 02 KJ Sport.   What would you guys recommend if I have a $1000-2000 budget?   I'm looking into at least a 2.5" lift.   And what are my options on tires?   Would 32's fit?  What lift kit do u guys recommend?   :-[

Before you run off anywhere, you need to do your research (which you;re doing, good for you).

Here's  a KJ owner's forum..check around here a bit:

Also, he hasn't been on here since October, but if you PM him he might respond.  Look for "m0th" (m - zero - t-h)...he used to have a kick arse Green KJ, not sure but I think he still has it. He'd probably love to talk to another KJ owner, as you guys are kinda rare.

i used to wheel with a guy that had a lifted kj, he sais the only good lift is the Frankenlift. its a mix of the best parts from all the lift kits out there for the kj. apparently there are a bunch of different lifts but they all have weak points. ive seen the old man emu kit, it looked pretty good. and Deaver has rear springs for the kj as well. good luck, do some research though.

i thought with a 2.5" spacer you can fit 35's on them - look awesome too.   would loose a lot of power though, especially if you have an auto.

Depends if you are talking a KJ ( Liberty) or a JK (Wrangler).  Seems everyone is talking Liberty.
