The Father's Day run is on! I'll be leading the run on Sunday.
This run is open to members and non members. If you have a Jeep, please come out. If you do not have a Jeep and wish to join us, please PM me first.
You must have:
- Tires in good condition (no worn out or bald tires please)
- Full size spare
- Front and rear tow points
CB is recommended but not necessary. I know a lot people who took part in the 101 last weekend want to get out again so we will be doing a run that everyone can handle. Please bring the appropriate supplies. It has been raining this week and the forecast at this time is calling for more rain. This may change the condition of the trails from what we experienced last weekend.
Remember to bring appropriate clothing, extra food, water, etc.
Meet at the McLean store at 9:00.
Hit the trail for 9:30
I look forward to seeing you out there!
-
I will be there. Looking forward to getting out again.

Rock on... I'm in... i have a winch bitch tag'n along with me.
This would be my first time wheel'n out in Mclean... as i've never been to the store... would someone provide me some type of directions so i am able to meet up with the group on time?
Much appreciated.

If its not raining, i'll be there. I'll try and get my better half to come out. She needs to get a little dirty.

From Bragg Creek, south to Hwy 22/66, turn West (right) on Hwy 66 towards Elbow Falls in K country. There are signs for the McLean turn off, follow the road to the store.

Room for another one? I can't be 100% until Saturday afternoon! Cleaning the windows on the Calgary Tower and pending Saturday's weather it might get bumped to Sunday. :(
-
If someones got room for a winch monkey and doesn't mind stopping in C0chrane to snag me and depending on what time you guys plan on going till (got fathers day dinner plans around 5:30pm) I would love to go along.

Sorry to hear about that man. I had a rear caliper seize last month that ended in a complete rear brake job. You're still welcome to come out and ride shotgun with me...

Wow...I haven't seen you guys since the last two times I ran Fisher East!
-
This sucks, I would love to join you guys, but I don't have a full-size spare. the rear tow-point I can take care of tomorrow, but I am not sure where to purchase or how to attach a 33" procomp tire. Is a full-size spare a usual requirement for these kind of runs?
-
yeppers.

I'd think that all you'd have to do is get the 31 or 32 inch tire that your Sahara came with replaced with a 33 that matches your other four tires. You can then put it on the stock spare carrier. From everything I've read, you can put a 33 on there without issues. I've even heard of some guys running 35's on there, but that's a fair amount of weight to hang off of that sheet metal.

That might be worth trying. Okay, dumb question time, I got the tires with the jeep so where in Calgary is the best place to buy procomp tires and rims?
-
33's on stock tire carrier on JK is no problem. Some guy here was running a 37 on it for a while.
LAHAL is confirmed for Sunday.
I'll be bringing my better half, and my fuzzy little friend. It will be my fuzzy little friend first time 4x4ing, she better not make a mess in the back.
-
National 4wd has some for sure. They are across the street from Blackfoot Motorcycles.

Cool, thanks. Not sure how quickly I can get a tire, so probably won't be out Sunday.
-
I'll be there for sure to run midship, prerun aswell

Talk real nice to the guys at National. They "may" be able to hook you up in time.

i was in your same spot 3 months ago .. just go post something in the needed section someone might be nice and lend you one for the day .. thats what buddy did for me
as for 33 it will fit on the back of a TJ and if you have a JK a 35 will fit there as well .. ull just have to give your door a bit of a slam to close it .
-

National, Modern...even "mainstream" tire places may be able to get you what you need.
A wheel and tire that match what you're running for the other four are ideal. Then you can run a 5 tire rotation. If you can't get that, just about anything that 's a 33" that will mate up with your JK's 5 on 5 bolt pattern will "git 'er dun" when push comes to shove.
-
a can of ether does a good job will popped beads .. trust me i know i had both drive side tires come off 3 weeks back
1 spare isnt always enough ..
and in my case i didnt even have my lock nut socket with me so i had no choice but to get them back on the rims .. full of mud and water and snow
still got me home
;D

For sure. The insistence on a full sized spare is more about "oops" that seem to result sidewalls getting torn open. A lot of us carry cans of ether, plug kits, compressors...you name it. But there's some things that you just can't fix on the trail. :o
-
Got the jeep in running condition so will see you at Mclean creek tomorrow hope to get rid of this cabin fever ::)
-
Im out. :(

Like broken valve stems on those new JK's with their sensors and stuff... That would never happen... oh wait... it did TODAY. Hopefully, you can get it fixed before tomorrow.
Anyone got an extra full size spare to fit a JK so the W Squared can join us?

W square messed his valve stem .. just change it for a normal stem all its going to do is set off a little lite on your dash no biggy .
-
Not sure if it will fit. The JK valve stems are metal.
-
Thought the holes were the same size regardless... but i could be wrong... its happened once or twice before. ::)
-
I'm out :'(
-
W Square,
Do u need a full spare to use, or just in case? If its just in case, you can use my spare if something happens.
-
Alright I'm IN!
let's see I had to:
Put on a New Alternator today (PNP had none for my Jeep) Got on at part source
I had to Replace my Starter Solenoid got that at Crappy tire in Shawnessy. It was cracked
Made a Cover to block my Alternator from getting covered in mud (thanx for the mudflap idea there Waytech)
Changed my plugs , I think one of em was the original '89 factory plug. lol
Did an underbody grease and check - Noticed some lovley dents from the 101. My crossmember has a 2 inche deep dent in the center ;D . but all is good.
Confirmed for tomorrows run, see you all at 9
Joel

Not sure if it will fit. The JK valve stems are metal.
dude its the same size as any other stem .. just its metal instead of rubber .. just go to any canadian tire or wallmart and someone can get you one for free and we can set it tomorrow morning at the store
-
i have valve stems .. just show up tomorrow morning a bit earlier and we can get it all fixed up for you .. oh and find out how to remove your old valve stem sensor thingy
-
Been trying all evening to sort out flat battery problems...we'll see if it starts in the AM.
-
