Yeah, I know it's really early, but I've got someone coming into town that weekend who's never been wheeling before, and I want to make sure there's a run that day so I can show her what's what about what.
Not a ridiculously long day... thinking TOTW or 101 reverse, depending on weather. Just a fun day... family and stocker friendly. Sunday (the 29th) is no good due to Grey Cup.
I'm in a a Nissan Pathfinder on 33s.

Top of the world might be a better bet than Fisher West backwards (it's not actually called the 101 trail). There are detours around the steep bits going up to top of the world if you come from the west side, and Fisher West might be interesting for folks with open diffs if there's been a bunch of snow or some freeze/thaw cycles.
Fisher East is actually a lot of fun at that time of year. All of the big holes have either dried up or frozen up, and you can get through them with no problems - even on small tires. It doesn't offer the views that top of the world does though.
Unfortunately I won't be running McLean again this year. I'll be overseas until December. :(
-
I maybe in for Top of the World, I'll confirm later this month. We just did Fisher West Backwards (101 Backwards) just last week. I would not remember any stockers to try it, unless you have experience and lockers and winches.
On another note, believe it or not, I still haven't downloaded our pics from when we last went out. I'll try and get around to it, and I'll email you the pictures.
-
I'd be up for another run this year I'am in now to get the day off work lol
-
Im up for Fisher West backwards. Or if Jeff wants to, we can run the trail that we did last year.
-
I am the same as Comanche Runner. If I can take the 28th off of work I will be there. Chances are slim but I am going to try.
-
I'm in for one last hurrah.

Dougie is right, I fell through 4" thick ice in fisher east on the weekend. Looked kinda stupid just sitting there
-
if the ice breaks it will just make the day longer witch is never a bad thing unless your hauling out a brokin truck

The plan is for Saturday the 18th or Sunday the 19th? I need to see if I got approved for time off if its the 18th.
What time are we meeting?
-
Even if Sunday, November 29 isn't the official day, I would be interested in attending. Have to work Saturday, the joys of being self-employed. If there is enough interest, I would be in.

I say your rig on JF, soooooooo sick! You definitely have more than enough for the run.
-
Thanks man!
-
we should all just meet at the pit, then at least there will be plenty of room for everyone if alot of people show up! Just easyer than sitting on the side of the road by the store?? ;D
-
The pit is quite a detour from the trails that are being planned.

Sorry guys, fighting a cold, so I'm going to skip this run. Thanks stainless for the great idea of a year end run. Hope you all have fun and damage some sheetmetal for me, or just pop a couple of fuses...

-
anybody going out on Sunday
-
Great way to end to season!! Thanks to Aaron for leading. I think we all grew a little in the experience category. What a difference a little ice and darkness makes!!
Hope all got home ok.
-
Great day of near uh-oh'ing ;D All in all it our Jeep definitly got a good workout in the snow and ice dept.Safe to say the next time we roll out for a snow/ice run your gonna see all 4 corners wrapped in some V-bar tire chains ;) I know a couple of you were sporting chains how much were they from here locally?I',m on www.tirechains.com as I'm typing this and they want 125 us a pair for V-bars.
-
Make sure those tire chains have the cam locks on them to tighten them up. IE leclede truck tire chains ,not suv style.
-
hi john i payed 180 from fountain tire
-
Like Andy said...you'll want cam locks or other (lever style) tensioners around the circumference on the outside of the tire. Do yourself a favour and pick up about four good rubber bungee cords per tire as well - they keep the chains nice and snug and can save a lot of "wear and tear" on sheet metal.
Also, V-bar chains are the only chain I would run on ice. The light duty ones will help on paved roads in snow but I wouldn't trust them to stop a backwards slide down an icy hill.

For a pair or four?
-

-
