hey has anyone ever done a passenger side front axle seal? or is it easyer to just swap out the diff?? I looked it up hourly wise and it quotes out at 3.6 hours (shop wise), any help or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! :o

inner seal? remove hub and axle both sides, pull diff cover off, remove gear set, remove seal(s) I would do both while I was in there, tap new seals in , then put the centre section back in, axles, hubs, refill diff,.. Its not that bad actually

I did this to my dana 30 was the worst week of my life lol. But once you do it once its no biggy. Google it and you will get a picture how to do it thred. The best way to get the seals out is to use a system of 1/2" ratchet extensions with a large socket on one end (you can get the socket size from the new seals). Then just tap them out. The passanger side seal presses into the 4x4ing ingagement fork (you will have to remove that equipment if you model has it). The driver side presses into the diff pumpkin. Both seal require axels and diff gears removed.

Unless you have a vacuum disconnect D30, then you also have to pull the vacuum housing off and intermediate shaft out.
