FOR CAMPING!
(ahh.. see what I did there? ;))
Anyway. Just wondering if any of you fine folks know where to get cheap firewood for camping this weekend? If I buy it at the camp site it will be about 40$ and that only covers 1 night.
I can take my seat out of my Jeep and haul a whole bunch so if you know of any good places, that'd be awesome.
Thanks!

You can probably get some wood from me.....so dirty.....we have a bunch of brush willow and fallen aspen that we are literally clearly right now. You cn come load up your trunk for a couple bucks. It is out in priddis however...
Let me know :)

I've got some scrap wood behind my shop if you want to take that, pallets, sheets, 2x4's and logs. Some in the back of the green f-250 and a pile next to it. Please come take it!

Sweet guys, thanks for the offers I will keep you posted. I live in the far NW so it might be tough, but I will let you know if I can snag it from you!

Just took a look back there, no more logs. I still have 3 pallets some 2x4's and some sheets. Whoever wants it come get it.

Rona had small bundles of wood for about $8 when I was there yesterday. Some gas stations also sell bundles of wood.

just down from eecol electric on 46 ave SE there is a warehouse that has bins of cut offs (short 2X4s) free for the taking .............big sign that says free firewood ;)

My $0.02 ;D
I wouldn't pay someone to cut a tree, bring it to the city for me to buy it, haul it back out to the forrest to burn it to ashes...
And scrap just doesn't smell right when camping
Bowsaw, $20 and a $20 hatchet = Free deadfall ;)

they sell wood at the camp site because you need a permit to harvest wood on public land (it''s like $12)...
I would not risk to hack up a dead stand on May long week-end at Mclean... Please be that guy. If you do; please do it in front of the SRD or RCMP... if you gonna do something stupid might as well do it right. :-[

Thanks for the offer but...
Pallets are full of nails... there is no need for that in the backcountry.

I thought you just needed the permit to cut it and haul it to your residence. If you cut what you need while camping I didn't think you needed a permit. ??

You can not cut anything. Deadfall is a big No no as it adds value to the forest floor. The only way you can cut is with a permit and i think there are restrictions on how close to a roadway you can cut.
