Title: E3 Plugs
Post by: xooma on October 26, 2010, 12:17:34 PM
Was wondering if anyone has tried them in their Jeeps? I have a 2003 YJ with a 4.0 l and I put them in and had to remove them because the radio got a severe case of radio interference noise. Talked to the manufacture and they said never heard of that problem. So I ended up taking them back. Was wondering if anyone  here has had the same issues? Would really like to try them and see if they are as good as they claim.  8)

The Jeep engines are way too basic and the best plugs I have found are the Champion as recommended by Jeep or ngk's, nothing fancy.

I run E3's in my 2000 Cherokee 4.0 litre, no problems with them.  Didn't make a huge differance, but I think I got a bit out of them.  Jeep runs good with them though.

I ran e3 s in my gen ii vortec and thought there ws a difference. For more basic engines I like ngk v-power plugs, they are supposed to be self tuning. For the radio noise try running the coil wire differently.

For the 4.0L....Champion Truck Plugs. No more, no less. OEM plugs too. I've had Bosch Platinums, Platinum +4 and NGK's and they don't work as well.

I put the E3's in my JK... 200 Kms laster 2 cylinder misfires... got new champions took the plugs back to CT and emailed the company E3... and told them the issues.  They sent me new plugs and wanted me to try them out.  NOPE... have a set here if anyone wants them.  just let me know.

Hijack...Where do you guys get champion truck plugs, i got some from napa 7 months ago and paid an arm and a leg for them.

I do find the truck runs better on the truck plugs than the bocsh platinums. I've heard lots of people have troubles with plantiums and the 4.0.

Thanks to all I think I will stay with the NGK's. They are in it now and again I guess with all the advertising thought I would try the E3.
Again Thanks for the info.
