What tools, recovery gear/ equipment and spare parts do you carry on the trail?
And what are the most common problems you've run into?

Since you have a cherokee I would def recommend some spare upper control arms... I break mine often the stock ones are absolute garbage... a spare alternator could also come in handy they sit low on the engine and are prone to dying once they fill with mud and water.

then replace them with decent aftermarket ones.
if y0're running more than 3" of lift you should probably upgrade other parts of your suspension to............. avoid these situations.
spare alternator not a bad idea though.

Tools - Selection of wrenches, socket set, pliers, vise grips, basic screw drivers, lead wire (no plastic coating), some different gauges of electrical wire (random stuff not rolls), tape (electrial/duct), zip ties, axle nut socket, bolt cutters, various ratchet straps, rope.
Parts - hubs, spacers, lug nuts, fluids, spare belt This depends on things you may break. XJs have low alternators. I've seen idler pulleys go to. And if you have those stupid locking lugs, the stupid key that undoes it until such time you remove the locks and chuck them.... which you should do today if you have them.
Recovery - recovery straps, tree savers, snatch blocks, D-rings, gloves, spill kit, working winch attached to my vehicle and the controller....

list of offroad crap to bring. or that i bring; this is based on MY rig and my habits.
this will vary for others. for example if you run a D35 and locker, you might want to carry spare shafts..........
me:
parts: full size spare obviously
spare wheel hub, ball joints, ujoints, (i think i have 3) axleshafts, brake hoses/hard lines. typical stuff for all jeepers.
me specific; have a spare computer; Alternator: starter motor. various sensors (CPS, coil, TPS, MAP, AIC) some other stupid ZJ stuff. idler pulley
couple fluids just in case. spider gears if my 8.8 locker craps out.
tools:
basic hand tool kits from Canadian Tire and any other tools i might need to fix the above.
fire extinguisher
first aid kit
chainsaw
axe
shovel
anything else you can pack lol

I made a checklist of the stuff mentioned at the 101, but it's nice to hear some specifics such as the lca's and alt

Its an xj. Just load a spare of eveything into the back of it, buy a 12,000lb warn winch and drag the weighted down peice of crap everywhere you go.
thats what most xj guys do.
The problem with extra room in any given rig is people have this nagging desire to always fill it up with useless crap they will never use.
But if you camping, try to gut your rig to lighten it up and have all your emergency stuff there in case you need it.

3.5" and thats how the jeep came. Wasnt aware of the issue until I started breaking them.me personally will never wheel a stock control arm again. That being said he has a small lift prob stock arms and it wouldn't hurt to carry as that is a glaring weakspot to me on stock xp suspension. All this being sad maybe im just to hard on the gas

Only thing 'weighing down' my XJ when I go wheeling is the 12" sub + box + amp in the back.
If you want to bring spares, keep em at the campsite.
If you're still concerned about things breaking mid-trail, build them better.
