Hey guys im just pricing out components and would like to know whats the $1000 difference in these 7" IRO lifts.

i think the $1000 is for the rear longarms, which may be overkill on a daily driver

35's on a zj takes a lot of effort to fit properly. 33's on the other hand can fit with 4-5" of lift and minor trimming. That's so the tire has room to flex. If it's staying on the street then 35's should fit fine. The 4.5" premium short arm lift is a very complete system that will get you going with 33's.
If you really want to run 35's the premium kit with front and rear long arms would give you the best flex and control of the bigger tires. But at that price I'd start looking at a Clayton off-road zj long arm. Clayton's kit will get rid of the rear track bar, which is a good thing in my opinion.
Look at your options and save some money. Look around and see what others have done.

Will the 7" critical patch clear 35's under flex? the iro site says even they're 5.5 longarm kit clears 37's

They definately did some trimming to fit the big tires. But it does say 35-37 fit with 5.5"-7", so I'd say you could run the 35's if you don't mind going that tall. They do mention a specific rim width and back spacing too so stick to what they recommend.

JackstandJohnny had Iron Rock Offroad longarm kit in his ZJ before he parted it. He ran 33's, went up to 35's, then went back to 33's. Not sure what total amount of lift he had though.
He may be able to offer you some insight also :)

5.5" lift in the ZJ. I cut the crap IRO joints out and put johnnyjoints in it instead. much better.
if your goal is a 35" tire then the 7" is probably a better bet unless you like to cut like I did.
35s is a big step though; your rear axle will become a weak link, and with stock gearing its gonna be sluggish.
33s fit nice, lots of room to flex and its tolerable on the street performancewise.
35s will fit with the 5.5" if you cut in the proper areas, and as long as the arms are adjustable.
problem is after you drop 2k on suspension, you're still stuck with stock crap diffs, you need to address steering, and if you have an AWD ZJ, you should probably ditch the np 249 tcase, and upgrade to ujoint driveshafts/axleshafts.
ZJs are a lot of work haha if you're bored, you can go read my 'build thread' I went through just about everything step by step.

Take the price of that lift and tack on an extra $1000 for odds and ends. So just about $3,000 - $3,500 for suspension, steering and cheap wheels. Then add on tires and gearing, most likely a rear axle swap. Since the aftermarket for ZJs is limited, everything else is more expensive. Then empty your wallet into the gas tank.
If you're looking for something to modify on a reasonable budget, ditch the ZJ.
And when did you run 35s on the ZJ Johnny? I know we tried that set out once, but I thought you, didn't run them.

its no project that needs to be completed right away, 35's on procomps i already got. looking for a ford8.8 and a dana 30. My total budget on the build is 5k as of now i got 4700 left for goodies cause the zj only cost me 300.
Im looking to have it completed by the end of june so i can wheel the rest of the summer

yea I ran 35s but decided to stay on 33s mostly cause the tires are brand new.
for what its worth, the IRO critical path 5.5 is fairly decent. get it with all adjustable arms and bilsteins and that's a good start if your budget is 5k.
then you can do steering, etc. I would probably address the rear diff. 8.8 swap is popular if you can weld and stuff.
I would recommend the 5.5" IRO kit and just cut whatever you need to make the tires work. lots of guys do it then you have money for gears/axles etc.

8" Claytons Long Arm lift
Custom D44 front axle, 5.38 gears, Eaton electric locker with dash push button, ram assist steering, raised steering and over the axle TB mount
Rear D60, 5.38 gears, welded carrier, mounts setup for Claytons rear 4 link.
Dual battery setup with over sized alternator, Taurus E-fan setup with manual over ride/shutoff.
NP231 tcase
Currently has a Ram laptop mount bolted to the dash as I was using a tablet for a GPS. Can be left or removed.
For $4800 you get the above plus 36" Irok tires, custom front and rear bumpers, and 9.5ti winch.
