« Last post by Zooguy on July 04, 2023, 12:50:07 PM »Hey Jason, I think I might have found my issue. ( Fan not cooling enough)
I will likely cancel my appointment with Calgary radiator in the 12th. Not sure if you want that appointment or not. Let me know.

« Last post by Zooguy on July 04, 2023, 12:48:03 PM »So I pulled my fans out this morning and took the Jeep for a drive on the ring road. I figured either it heats up and the water pump is the culprit or it stays cool and it’s the fans fault. Well it was at 230 now it was 175 then 190 in the neighborhood. It went back up to 230 when I parked it but expected that. Any suggestions on a specific single fan? I have a double flexalite one right now with an aluminum shroud. Not sure we’re to start looking for a single. Any suggestions will be great. Thanks.

Fan will run if your AC is on so that might be something to try (turn AC off see if that changes things). Also maybe check the fan relay... its possible its failed on.

CJA Events / 2023 "Off-Road 101" course - July 22
« Last post by MattMan on June 26, 2023, 12:57:16 PM »Hey Everyone!
The Calgary Jeep Association is pleased to once again announce our 11th Annual Off-Road 101 Course!
This is a one day, family friendly course that is open to anyone that will introduce participants to the basic skills that are necessary during an Off-Road adventure, as well as safe and environmentally friendly practices while on the trail.
There are a couple subtle changes this year to make note:
The course will take place at the Mclean Creek off highway land use area. We will be meeting at the Mclean Creek store from 7:30am to 8:30am for vehicle inspections, etc. At 9:00am we'll start with introduction to off-roading instruction, along with various demonstrations to get you acquainted with your vehicle's capabilities. Around noon we'll have a short lunch break (you’re responsible to bring your own lunch as well as addition food and drinks the rest of the day). Then we'll head out for a trail ride with CJA members providing instruction and support throughout the day. Please note that this is an off-roading activity and there is always the possibility that damage, and scratches can occur to any vehicle. The trail guides will do their best to prevent/minimize any potential damage to the vehicles, but the potential is always there.
The number of registrants will be limited to 20.
Date: July 22, 2023
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Please send an email to confirm your attendance to: [email protected]

There are a couple subtle changes this year to make note:
- although this course has traditionally been restricted to Jeep-branded vehicles, this year we are opening our event to include other make/models. To participate, ALL must meet the "Vehicle Requirements" noted below.
- we are looking to separate out the more detailed "recovery" aspect of our typical course offering and will instead plan to introduce a "Recovery 101" event this Fall (exact date TBD)

« Last post by MattMan on June 26, 2023, 10:59:34 AM »Hey Everyone,
SAVE THE DATE!
Trails 4 Tomorrow (T4T) is planning trail maintenance days on July 15 and 16 on the Margaret lake loop in the Ghost Public Land Use Zone. Please note, this project is pending final approval from Alberta Forestry, Parks, and Tourism (AFPT). Due to the amount of work to be done, they are planning a 2 day event and will be looking for 30-40 vehicles to join. Both clubs and individuals are welcome to help. Please email [email protected] to give your individual or group support.
T4T will be planning to camp out the night of the 15th. More details to come on meeting location and camping spot.

Land Issues, Trail Projects & Trail Stewardship / Recreational Stewardship Fair - McLean Creek
« Last post by MattMan on June 26, 2023, 10:29:04 AM »Good Morning!
We're looking for a couple volunteers for the 3rd Annual Recreational Stewardship Fair and we need your help!
What is a Recreational Stewardship Fair?
They are an outdoor public event that gives people who use the backcountry a chance to learn some basic principles, skills, and interesting facts about our backcountry. We believe that information is the best way to help conserve our trails.
What we need:
Trails 4 Tomorrow will support getting us all the information to get to the event. They need 1-2 clubs per event to sign up to have a booth and show the public how 4 wheel drive users are stewards of the land. We need you to talk about things like how to air down your tires and why, why use a tree saver, or packing out what you brought in (just to name a few!).
This is the 4WD community’s chance to pass on information that could be useful to new people using the trails, educate the general public on how awesome 4WD folks are, and make a real impact in conserving and improving our trail systems. Feedback from the clubs that participated last year were that the Fairs were a fun and exciting way to help people understand the 4WD community.
This year we're looking to attend the McLean Creek event:
Location: Fisher East Staging Area in McLean PLUZ
Date: August 12, 2023
Time 10am - 3pm
Please post up if you are interested.
Thanks!
