use the red hi temperature silicone, and depending what diff just get quaker state synthetic. be careful some diffs require additives and specific weights, and some require that the gear oil is strictly synthetic...

as per your diff specs, dont know what make year or model your referring to.

as for getting into the diff, thats always the fun part. you can use a syringe pump, buy it at your local handyman store.

I use pretty much a basic silicone diff seal.  They sell a replacement cap with a hose on it at Canadian Tire.  I use the standard diff fluid in the front and one with a friction modifier for the rear since I have a track lock.  You can either buy a diff fluid with it in it or buy the additive at the dealer.  I get one with it already in it.  Due to water and mud, I rarely worry about synthetic fluid since I change mine often.

Some synthetic fluids will eat silicon sealent meaning you may need a gasket.

Read your manual and use what it says.

An easy way to fill diffs is to go to a drug store and get a the largest syringe that they have and use that, also works good to fill up manual trannys and transfer cases.  When done put the tip cover back on and use it next time.

Canadian Tire sell gear oil in 4 litre jugs.

One of the best shop items I've bought. Makes  diff and transfer case oil changes so much easier.

Princess Auto has them for about $40.  This one isn't the one from Princess but same idea, then just buy a 5 gallon pail of diff oil and it just sits there ready to use. Try to get one with a clear tube so you can see where the fluid is at the time of transfer, or replace it with a clear one.
