RED ... ATF... it would be Red if if was normal... Pink if you have a bit of water in it ...

White... How deep  was that hole and how long you stayed in it?... I would get my tranny flushed if I was you and get new ATF right away.

I have neber seen white ATF before... I might be wrong

Sounds like water for sure.  If you have not checked your diffs and I do that ASAP.  Any time you go through deep water or mud and should check and/or changes your fluids after

Throw in a good synthetic and your tranny with thank you.  I am currently using Redline and it made my tranny work smoother and quieter

Has the tranny been flushed before, if its a high mileage vehicle flushing the tranny for the first time can cause more harm than good.  If so, drain the tranny fluid and change the filter, refill with new fluid.  Drive it for a week and then drain the fluid again and refill.  The stuff I have in my diffs right now is Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90, the Redline tranny fluid that was mentioned is good, its going in after the 101.

ok seems reasonable. so two last questions.....where is the transmission filter. and what kind for fluid can i put in there for cheap as a flush fluid?

and red line is good for the diffs? i know my tranny like me after i put it in.

The filter is bolted to the tranny , inside the pan so you have to drop that first.  The way I did it was only take to bolts out of one side so the fluid spills out the side into a collection pan, not falling all over the place.  Unbolt filter and replace, clean out pan and magnet.  Clean the mating surface with brake cleaner and a wire brush if needed.  Apply new gasket to surface and coat with a thin film of RTV, bolt pan up again and let the RTV set up for a bit (beer time).  Refill fluid using a funnel, the fill tube will be near the firewall under the hood.  ATF+4 or +3 depending on what your Jeep needs is cheap enough that you can use it the first time until you refill with Redline.

is this tranny a manual or auto? if auto then yes, drop pan, change filter, re-install pan. fill with atf +4. running in neutral.
if manual. drain fluid. fill fluid till it comes out of fill hole. done.
as well, if its manual let the fluid sit for a while. if you just drove home and checked the fluid it may look white as its full of bubbles from being thrown around in the trans.

update. i change it out with some super cheap fluid and now its just a bit notchey to down shift into second, havent tried 5th yet.  im sure the tranny will love me alot more a about three days when i replace it all with redline.  is redline good for the t case as well as diffs?

I use synthetics in my tranny (redline)and t-case (royal purple) as I change them about once maybe twice per year.  In my diffs I usually just use standard dino oil, 80w-90 as that get changed a lot more because of mud and water.  When I was actually offroading a lot it was not uncommom for me to change my diffs 5-6 times in a summer.
