Axle build, few questions
« on: November 05, 2009, 12:49:30 AM »
For my next step I'm looking into swapping an HP30 front out of an XJ since it is a direct fit.  I know I want an axle out of a 95+ so I get the non-vacuum disconnect and 5-297x u-joints.  Will the current driveshaft I have swap right in? I have a double carden shaft with the CV on the tcase side.

Also, is it possible to "simply" swap 4:10 gears from a 2.5L XJ into the HP30 axle or will I need the master install kit?  Would the stock 4:10 gears be the same as the Yukon or Superior 4:10 gears?

Will the current steering components on my ZJ bolt right back onto the HP30?

I believe the change was even earlier like 93 or 94 on the XJs.  Also gears from any YJ or XJ HP 30 will work and the YJ 4.10 gears are a lot more common and if you are swapping gears into a diff, for the $100 you might as well get the master install kit and replace everything
'95 YJ with a few mods
