Transfer case

How much flex should my Dana 300 have? My shifter moves 3-4 inches up and down when I give her lotes of throttle
80 CJ-7 350 chevy, 8000 Warn winch,  33/12.5 R15 Cooper STT,  True Trac front & Rear,

? Your transfer case shifter? Id think none... Are all your mounts solid under the jeep?

I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

Check the mount on the drivers side of the tcase, should have a bolt with a couple of bushings to keep the case from turning under load. Heres a pic

If thats missing, your tcase shifter will move side to side as you hit the throttle.
