Sometimes it is too wet, too icy or simply to tight for a tug. Or maybe your the first in line and have to get over a log.... its all winch worthy. A winch is something that justifies itself through years of service, not every time you go out. If your going to be wheelin a fair amount its worth it from what I've seen.

Good Advise guys! I didn't really consider the weight issue, is there a solution for TJ's where you can remove the winch when DD, such as carriers I have seen for trucks?

I have a 2" hitch receiver cradle that I will sell for $80, its brand new. Would fit the rear hitch if you have one, or a front. You will have to do your own wiring harness to the winch, but the cradle is for sale if you want one... Not gonna publicly advertise it since i may one day use it, but down the road if you find you want one, Ill probably still have it...
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

After What I witnessed out on the Kingone Run with Jay and others you are right Jamal, a winch is a very good thing to have for all the reasons you stated.

I will keep that in mind, Thanks!

Kyle,

Save up some money for a lift and use a come-along until a cheaply priced winch comes your way.

Come-along, gumboots, and holy water. Served me well when I was 16 years old and a firstimer. Not as fast or good as a winch but it'll save your bacon . Just sayin...

Tubby, thanks for the advice but I've already beat you to punch. I have an 2.5" Hd lift from OME sitting in my garage, with adjustable front and rear track bar along with all 8 currie jj CA waiting to be installed once I have over hauled the 4: 10 geared axles I bought to make up for the 33"tires. can't forget the BL & MML ive already installed to hopefully take care of drive line vibes. Don't want to do to much more, or risk over doing it on the skinny pedal out on the trails when I can just pull some line and let the winch do most of the work, especially considering the jeep is my DD. Plus, its easy to convince the wife and family to buy you a winch for xmas, over the laundry list of other technical/mechanical things I want/need!

I think I have 4 or so extra winches in the garage somewhere. Maybe 5. By the time you have money I'll have a couple more I got cheap off of Justin because his woman found out how much he spent on Jeep parts again.

WHERE IS THE LIKE BUTTON >>>>>   LIKE <<<<<<    justin has to hide everything .. most of his extra parts are at my place
