Bump stops

What did some of you guys doing after lifting your CJs or YJs? After 7-8" lift Im trying to figure out how to properly set up my stops so I dont tear fenders off.

As a cheap fix I am planning on taking some 2" square tubing  and building a drop bracket for the existing bump stop and welding it to the under side of the frame. Something like this \_/  but with probably 45 deg. angles.   Thats the extent of my computer drafting abilities a shameless use of slashes and an underscore.

What eagle said. Square stock to space the stockers down from the frame. I also use 1/2" conveyor belt for the fine tuning.

If you want an easy CAD program.....check out Google SketchUp. It's FREE and all the tutorials are online in video format, and it's pretty straight forward to use...here's the drawing I did of a trailer I'd like to build this spring/summer....

Google sketchup has some pretty cool features, and it is definitely a lot easier to learn than a full parametric modeling package.

but yeah the program I used was Pro/ENGINEER

i use autocad an autodesk inventor, with inventor i can even calculate the stress on the peices that i design!  8)
