Well, as I was starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel on the YJ for another season of carnage, today I ventured into repairing/replacing the body lift.
Upon further inspection, the side mounts on the tub (under the doors) are all cracked. It appears that the previous owner torqued the hell out of the mount bolts pulling the tub down into the mount, thus resulting in weakness and eventually cracking. I figure that instead of throwing more time cutting, patching and welding on a tub that is already in pretty rough shape it may be better to just pull it off and replace it.
So heres the question, how much work am I looking at in replacing the tub alltogether? Any hints or past experiences or grief that anyone wants to offer up?
I figure while I am at it and the dash is all out I will explore the flat panel dash change over as well. I found a pretty decent write up on it and it really doesnt look that difficult.
Any info that you can offer is appreciated.
