Clutch is sticky and squeaky on my '94 YJ!
« on: March 25, 2008, 09:34:04 PM »
Anyone know if it is possible to lubricate the clutch on my YJ without having to do any major dismantling?  It is very sticky and noisy when changing gears. :-\

Ok.  I guess I'm thinking about the clutch cable.  The thing is is that when I am releasing my clutch it is very sticky and will not allow me to ease it off.  All of a sudden it lets go and in turn my Jeep jolts forward.  It is obviously worse in a lower gear when I am pulling away from a stopped position.

I'm pretty sure your clutch is hydraulicly actuated, check the fluid level, otherwise it's probably time for a new clutch...how long have you had the jeep? has the clutch ever been done? do you drive through muddy water? squeaky usally means throwout/pilot bearings....does it squeak while you push it? while it's held in?

Your clutch is hydraulic, nothing to lubricate.  I would before start with checking the fluid level
