Soft top repair?
« on: September 10, 2008, 09:26:32 AM »
Looks like I need to put the hard top on the jeep soon. The zipper on the rear window in the factory soft top busted. It’s a 2001 Sahara tan top. It was a little drafty this AM.  Does anyone know of a place that would replace the zipper and repair the window? I won’t be in a rush for it as it won’t go back on until spring.

Are you saying get a new top? I was hoping somewhere local or at least in AB did repairs and replaced zipers?

If the zipper on the rear window is broken, it's probably cheaper to find a new window off ebay.

The half of the zipper on the top is also toast. It needs new metal sliders. I busted one of them.

I went to chinook upholstry, they quoted me $200 to fix the zipper on a rear window...

They have to install new zipper on the top, as well as new zipper on window.

For me, I just wear an extra jacket when wheelin now....

Nathan has 4 pairs in his closet.... ewwwww....
Really makes ya wonder about folks, eh?

Try a seamstress for the zipper. I have used ones before to put in heavy-duty zippers on backpacks. (no, not chaps, you sickos).
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.

Hmm and if they made chaps, they would be *huge* chaps ;D
