I have a 4.5 x series kit with the drop brackets and am very happy.  Lots of pros and cons with every lift like long armvs short arm vs drop brackets. Check out naxja forum and do a search . If you are going to beat the crap out of it ever weekend the and you wanna be top dog then get claytons.  I built mine to abuse the crap out of it during hunting season and a hard dayrun every couple of mintha or so. Rough country represents a compromise in cost and quility. Ie it is cheap but it works , works really well. Got mine from north shore offroad in vancover  and altitude adjustment in red deer installed it.

This is for a YJ, not a TJ or XJ

I have had a 4" rough country lift on my Cj7 since march and so far it has been good. It flexes nice, rides way better than stock, and came with all the extra stuff like shocks and drop pitman arm. I feel that its a good product and I saved a $1000 vs buying a rubicon express lift. Just my $0.02

If you go on jeepforum.com you can see many messages about rough country under the YJ section.  One of rough country's reps' is actually a member on the site too.  They have changed there leaf spring manufacture and apparently it is night and day compared to the original springs from Rough country.
The guy on the forum will even answer all your questions about the lift.  Heard there is good warranty too.  Lots of guys who had the old style leafs
had them sag and they just sent pics to the rep and they got replaced for FREE!!!!  There are lots of good write ups on the forum too about guys liking the
lift. 

Personally I would rather deal with a company that has great consumer relations then a company who just sells ya the lift but then hangs you
out to dry on stuff like parts missing from the kit or saging leafs.  Mind you BDS has great customer service too but there lifts are three times as much.
But the bds lifts do come with more stuff.

I am looking at getting a rough country 4" lift come summer unless i got with an e-locker.

Gemini sales out of vancouver sells the lifts so no worries about the pesky cross boarder UPS charges.

My two cents is for $550 my as well try for a first lift kit.  You prob will wanna go with a SYE and CV driveshaft tho just to help the angles.

i just found a 2.5 spring and shock lift  just something to get me started its cheap and will get me by for a few more months but i would like to know if anyone has heard about theses small lifts and if there any good or if its just a waste of money and time

Lookin at a 4" lift, YJ i bought has a 3" body already not sure if I'll leave it in or not, plan on 4.56 ratio's and 35" tires

Apparently the new lifts are good, they changed suppliers, as the old lifts has lots of issues, springs started sagging very quickly. Personally I'm going to get the 2.5 lift, because thats all I ever plan on having on this jeep. From what I have heard rough country has excellent customer service and a good replacement policy.  If you think you will outgrow the 2.5 lift in a few months I would look at getting something else, a 4 lift or something, so your not spending your money twice. If you go RC the 4 lift is only a few $ more than the 2.5 lift

The shock that came with my 3" rough country lift kit for my XJ are already busted and I've had the lift on for one year... so invest in better shock than the stock they're offering
