yep, ive done it. Its very easy, and not too pricey depending on where you get the used carb. Jeep stuff rips you off (as usual) with a price of $100 on varying qualities of used carbs. Too bad there are never yj's at pickurpart. but anyways, a couple of people have them laying around, just do some lookin, or if you want it right away, unfortunatly pickurpart or ebay are your sources to use. The install is easy, i could even do it for you if you have a problem with it (no charge), and show you how to adjust your mixture. Having no electronic mixture control (with the stepper motor that tends to fail on most cjs and yjs in the 15+ year range) is quite a relief because it takes one more thing away from the computer that can get wanky. Also another upgrade that takes no more than 10 minutes and about 6 feet of 16 or 18 gauge wire is to directly connect the purple and orange wires from your ignition module (under your washer fluid and engine coolant resevoir) directly to your distributor cap. This also strays more input from the computer, improves idle in some cases, makes it more simple, and is less to worry about. And with the carb swap, your light may come on saying "emiss maint" due to your O2 sensor and computer having no control over your mixture. Just rip the bulb out.
