hard top question

will one from a 97 tj fit my 03 tj
03 TJ, 33" BFG's,4:88 gears  BBoost, CB, custom front bumper,  insta/extenda trunks, rugged ridge roof rack w/basket

Yes.  The big difference is the venting.  The 97 will have a vent down the side of the hardtop... your 03 will have vents built into the tailgate.  So putting the 97 top on the 03 jeep means you have double the venting.

Yeah I don't think having the vents in both places would be a bad thing at all.  If you try to put a later hard top on an older TJ I think it can make it a bit harder to close doors etc cause they get pretty air tight with out the vents

I've heard the clamps at the windshield are different too, due too the plastic trim on the 03' and newer.  Nothing important though.

I just bought a hardtop & would like to get this in place...

Wiring? What wiring? 

The only thing I can think of that would require any wiring would be the rear defrost and wiper if it has one.  On mine that's just a 2 wire plug and should be pretty easy to do.  Take a look around the drivers side rear of your tub and see if there's a plug already there.

I just put a 97 top on my 2003

just take the conector out of your original and put it in the new onw. mine poped right in.

only other thing i had to do was drill 2 holes in the back.  The 2 holes for the bolts to hold the top down were about 2" different from my origional top.
