ultimately depends on how much you wanna spend.

I think things are much simpler if you stay on 33's.

Totally agree! You can stuff 33's for cheap with spacers and a body lift.

All depends on what you are looking for.  If you want a pavement princess or mall crawler then go with a short-arm kit, same as stock suspension.  If you want a serious off-roader than you will have to go with a longarm kit.  The rockkrawler are very good from what I hear and have seen, rubicon express, fabtech are also good.  Let us know what you want your Jeep for and we can better help you

A short arm lift is ok provided it replaces all the arms. Some basic versions only come with lower arms, that will leave the upper arms as a weak link.

Ideally you want all the arms to be adjustable for axle centering, alignment, and driveline tunning.

My favorite shortarm is a Rock Krawler 4" complete with a weld in rear cradle. The rear triangulation setup allows you to drop the rear track bar, has very good antisquat and pinion rolling geometry, and flexes alongside of most longarms.

The RK 4" is reasonably priced for what it comes with. All their arms are garrunteed not to bend, no questions asked. The trackbar is solid stock and very strong.

4" is really the max you want to go on a short arm. Anything higher starts to limit performance, and a long arm is recommended.

The biggest difference between long to short arm is on road performance. Long arms ride a lot better. Offroad there is very little difference.

There are a lot of other issues to consider when getting into 4" and up lifts on a jeep.

Shock clearence, cv driveshafts and front end alignment issues to name a few.

Give Rob at Hoyboyz a call with what you want, and what application it is for. He be able to help you further from there.

Good luck and welcome
