Political Powerplay aggressive parlimentary Takeover
« on: December 02, 2008, 12:51:14 PM »
thoughts?

I think its a baaad idea,.. I feel s. dion is the worst of the 4 evils.

I would've thought ndp anf pc would be the lesser of the evils, but with ndp signing the accord, they can't be any better than dion.

If you guys think its a bad idea, sign the petition below, I did.

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/CANADIAN/petition.html

Aside from my thoughts

millions of canadians had chosen for 1 leader,.. how can the 3 other parties speak for the rest of canada to say "we can join forces" when clearly there is a reason how each canadian voted, surely the NDP votes were ment to be Liberal and BLOC was meant to be NDP? WTF????

even if it costs us another $300 mil,.. I say let's vote on it.

I,m with you jay,not the three stooges of politics. These three do not represent me or any other canadians ,this is a power struggle with three egomaniacs and Steven Harper. One is a leader of a party who has vowed to break up Canada the other is a socialist and the other is a citizen of France. These three are not leaders. As a citizen of Canada i have voted for a leader of Canada. Signed the petition

I voted for Harper but have two points I think are important.

He did NOT win a majority gov't, so that means that the majority of the country did NOT want him as PM, they just couldn't decide who they did want.

PC did win more votes than any other individual party and had a MINORITY gov't, this means that you need to play nice with ATLEAST one other party to get anything done. Harper seems incapable of this. In my eyes he brought this on himself.

I'll still sign the petition cause a coalition scares the crap out of me.......

Geez I sure wish he had sucked up in Quebec a bit more and got a majority gov't.

Excellent points

Harper won only a minority

but a coalition scares the crap out of me too,.. I'll take a harper over dion anyday,.. however, if Layton was leading the coalition,.. I think i wouldn't mind so much.

*rant on*
I *still* think there should be a spot for a "Vote of Non Confidence In Any Candidate or Party" on the ballots.   >:(

...

Screw it,.. lets start our own party,.. we'll call it the Jeep green Party,.. then we'll align ourselves with the green party

A minority is one thing..... not a single person in this country....... and this includes the BLOC......... voted for the blocs ultimate participation in Federal Gov't.   this is essentially what has happened. yes they are NOT part of the coalition, but they are active in the coalition.  they have signed in to endorse the coalition for 18 months with a Veto; while the Bloc has supported the Conservatives over the last year,  such a piece of legislation has NEVER been signed by any other parties in Canadian history.
indeed the Separtist party now has an active say in legislation.

As Moisiour Duceppe so elegantly stated, "What is good for Quebec is also good for a Sovereign Quebec"  He is basically stating that no, he does not care about the current state of Canada, but that only of Quebec..... such a man now has an active say in Canadian politics.
my hopes: the Governor General does one of two things: she calls BS and calls for another election or (which is better) prorogue parliament to the new year, in which time i hope people can answer two questions:
1: How can it be possible that the leader of a Party who posted the worst election results in 141 years, and was effectively ousted from his own party, has come to run the Country, and
2: How could you possibly get into bed with a Separtist party and believe they will do ANYTHING in the best interest of the country.... specially when they openly admit they won't.............

# 43492................................... man, i need to go pour another rum. this is depressing

Sorry, while I agree the coalition is a bad thing, 56,129 Canadians so far must have missed the phrase:

"are do not"

WTH??? Someone decided they were so mad about this that they drew up an official petition without using correct grammar? How stupid does that make everyone look?

Might as well started it with "I very mad!!!"   ::)

So we can have a Liberal loser that comes from the most messed up thieving party Canada has ever witnessed, a social 'outkast' Layton from a party that is all about the 'little' guys and GIVING, but in a economic recession will surely tailspin us into economic doom and a party that makes no bones about what it wants for itself and its people but not any other province...
to now run our country during these tuff times?

GREAT!

Harper has done very well with a MINORITY government. He lasted through the last election and won that one. Ontario even saw some Liberal seats lost as the intelligent (not liberal die hard loyalist sheeple) voters realized overall Harper was doing good things.

So, if this happens we are in more trouble than we can imagine. Bailout programs will be the 'new' Canada.

i signed the petition
sent from my old school rotary dial phone.

Harper only won because everyone else were just bigger idiots.

This is the same guy that evaporated 33 billion Canadian dollars primarily held by retired Canadians with his unfounded ruling on the trust companes. Right after he said he wouldnt touch it.

I have no faith in any of them. Total agreement with Pat. Fire them all right now.

As for most theiving party in history, I doubt any one will ever top the mess Brian M created with the "Free trade" agreement and the GST.

Im not political at all, I hold no party loyaties what so ever. The only thing I have is a track record of getting the shaft every time a conservative gets federal power. From GST, to desimating my RRSP by nearly 70% in 1 day.

On the other hand, provincial has always been different.

It all goes back to the individual, and I dont think any of them in the capital are worth 2 cents right now.

Agreed Bill,
Unfortunately, we were given an opportunity to decide for ourselves which of the evils we wanted to lead our country. And now, the losers have banded together to reverse our decision.

I hate politics... it breeds contempt for your brothers/sisters.
