Saw this on kijiji, sounded like a really good deal for someone who needs parts for their XJ.

correct me if i am wrong here but if you "clean out" the rear diff wont the axles and tires just walk out of the housing? that's what happened to me  with my old zj.... had to drive home in 4lo and just as i got into the driveway they started walking out.... good thing i was only like a block and a half from home.

Depends on the rear end.  Dana35 with C clips...you are right... the axles would walk out.  Dana 44 has no clips and the axles are retained by a plate on the outer end of the axle... so I suppose technically you could drive it like that.  Don't know that I would want too do it for too long tho.

I think I've heard somewhere you can never have too many parts Jeeps ;)
