Stiff gas pedal with freezing temps?

I originally thought that this problem had to deal with the throttle body requiring some TLC but it seems that it’s more in relation to something else, like the trans???

It‘s starting to happen more recently on cold mornings start-ups where I can barely push down on the gas pedal. If I push hard enough on the gas I can free up some slack & the throttle response is quicker & the pedal is easier to push down on then norm operating temps. The slack is where I was able to push as far to on the pedal when it’s stiff, this also causes high rpm’s until the tranny warms ups to shift, more then the norm for this trans with cold fluid.. Once it warms up, the pedal goes back to normal in direct relation to my trans being able to shift at the correct rpm?
Any ideas? Does this make sense???

I know exactly what you're talking about for I had the same problem last winter. This season it hasn't seemed to happen to me since, but not sure what the deal is. My solution was to just let 'er warm up before doing anything.
I have also found in the cold temps that all my lights on the dash will go on, my speedometer will not move (nor my rpm) and she rattles like there's no tomorrow... what? Spring is coming? Excellent!

i try to do the same & let her warm for a bit, but it sucks when your late for work... 
it was never like this before & makes me wonder.. I know spring is suppose to be around the corner, but I worry about these types of things..
guess I'll have to go with the process of elimination, start with TB, clean check cables, change trans fluid.. n so on...

If you can try to spray the crap out of it with ether, sounds like it has humidity built up and is freezing. The ether should evaporate the water

That's a good thought... I'm thinking that it's caused by some form of humidity.
Spray with the engine off of course? What about any sensors to avoid? Do you spray this stuff in through the TB at WOT?
I've only used ether on diesel engines to get them running on cold starts...

ether won't hurt any sensors or plastics. spay from bothe ends if possible
