Good mechanic to get work done on TJ?
« on: April 26, 2009, 12:23:23 PM »
Hey guys,

2000 2.5 TJ.

My front and rear diff are both leaking and it looks like the pinion seal on both. If it was just the diff covers I'd do it myself, but I don't want to mess with the pinion seal and maybe bearings.
Does anyone know a good shop in town that will do a good job (correct oil, etc.) for a good price?

Someone recommended National 4x4 - does anyone have any feedback on them? they look good, but maybe expensive?

Thanks all,
-Dan

Chanda Precision Atomotive or Magnum Automotive are the two I would recommend.

Pinion seal and diffs are two hours at most.

National has been GREAT to me over the years and are reasonably priced.  They have done several diff seals for me.

+1 more on Chanda.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Per axle maybe. Anything less and they are either cutting you a deal, or not doing it right.

Where ever you go, specify that you want new crush sleeves and pinion nuts when they are done.

Jay is good, I'd recommend him as well.
