Just for reference,

It *IS* illegal under the Alberta Traffic Safety Act
Driving on right side of roadway

12(1)  A person driving a vehicle shall not drive the vehicle so that the vehicle or any portion of the vehicle is to the left of the centre line of a highway except

                                 (a)    when overtaking and passing another vehicle travelling in the same direction;

                                 (b)    when the roadway to the right of the centre line is obstructed by a parked vehicle or other object;

                                 (c)    when the roadway to the right of the centre line is closed to traffic;

                                 (d)    when turning left from the highway onto another highway or into a private road or driveway;

                                 (e)    when a traffic control device otherwise requires or permits;

                                  (f)    when the vehicle is being operated on a one-way highway.

(2)  If a highway is divided into 2 or more roadways by a boulevard, ditch or other physical barrier, a person driving a vehicle shall not drive the vehicle

                                 (a)    into, across or on the boulevard, ditch or physical barrier, or

                                 (b)    on that portion of the highway that is to the left of the yellow line except in an emergency situation where the vehicle is disabled and it is not practicable to move the vehicle to the far right side of the highway.

Per http://www.qp.alberta.ca/574.cfm?page=2002_304.cfm&leg_type=Regs&isbncln=0779738624

I think I've met that guy before and came to the realization he was a large container for a very small mental facility.

Everything you quoted is regarding left of the center or yellow lane, nothing about the right hand side.

Which he was.  :)

Anyway, he was trying really hard to sell his jeep on here. I'm sure a quick phone call would let someone know if he still has it or not.

I drive past this Jeep every Tuesday on the way to poker.  The Husky by the corner of Southland and Elbow.  Its always covered in crap and it looks like some parts are hanging off it. :(

gonna go steal his front driveshaft so the next time he decides to go 'wheeling' he'll get stuck (hopefully) and we'll see how much urban wheeling he can do after a couple tickets and a hefty tow bill.....

on the topic, if closures and things of that nature continue to happen, we will very well likely see more and more of this 'urban' wheeling.
