Engine fan blew up

So the fan darn near totally separated from the shaft today. Took out my 3 month old radiator and a chunk from the power steering pulley. I had to yank it and limp home with zero coolant. I assume it had something to do with the headlight high water I was in earlier in the day :( Could pushing water like this cause this kind of failure or is coincidence?

Question is, what do I do now for the fan?

Brand new? Junk yard? Electric? Is it worth going junk yard when the clutch is a wear item? Is electric reasonable if I go plowing through water again?

Did I mention mud/water/bogging sucks?

If your going diving  ;D again I suggest an electric.
Call partsource I got a wicked deal on a 16 inch Hatdon elec. fan

As long as you install a shut off switch, electric is fine for water.

So pushing water like that could have been the death of my clutch/fan? Did you wire your electric with a temp sens? What's the CFM on that fan?

Pushing water with the fan certainly won't increase it's life span.
Not sure on the CFM but it should be on their website.
We did put the fan on a temp switch.
 We used it as a puller not a pusher, way more efficient.
You can wire in an override switch to shut it off when you go swimming in the deep end as well.
