Soooo, it turns out that I cant sit at home all day and not excercise, who woulda thunk it? >:(

I need your gym suggestions, hopefully not too too expensive and preferably within 15 minutes drive of the Shawnessy shops.

I have friends thats go to that go to World health Club, they said it's good and pretty cheap $50 a month

Personally I have no experience with them, but I like the Southland Leisure Center, by south center mall.   I like it there, they have the Gym the Pool, and many other services. around $780 a year -

If your in Shawnessy what about the YMCA thats down there, suppose to be very good.

I got a friend selling a treadmill for $300 i think - if your interested

ive been going to the good life fitness deal in mckenzie town for a few months. they run a good business. im paying 40$ a month. has all the machines you could ever need. personal trainers are available. and they will show you how to use the machines properly for free. they will try to sell you some time with the personal trainers cause they have to but ask for the free demonstrations on the machines. if you need the demos of course. the trainers are worth the money if you havent a clue. after ive been there for 2 years my rate drops to 36$ a month. there is a good life fitness on mcleod trail.
dont you live by the YMCA?
p.s. the best part about going to the gym is theres hot chicks to oogle...;)

I think I've trained at pretty much every gym in calgary. If I had to go to one in the Shawnessy area, I'd go to Goodlife in Canyon Meadows. It used to be Gold's so the equiptment is good. It big and if you like training with the big boys, it is a good gym. I train at Golds in McKenzie Towne. Yes it's busy, a lots of muscle heads, but that's the atmosphere I like. I train heavy and compete in powerlifting and bodybuilding, so  I seem to fit in fine.
