a Wrench Day?
« on: June 18, 2009, 10:14:14 AM »
Anyone see a value in a Wrench day?

Basically it would be a day that we all get together, bbq, beer and tools, bring your swaps and gear clothes and spend the day repairing and upgrading our machines. I know that this is something that a lot of us do anyway, but having a "get together" is always fun. :)

Thoughts?

I remembering mentioning something like this several years ago when  was quite new...the concerns for security were brought up at the time, and no real solutions were suggested.

If you had something like this, where would you have it, and who would you be inviting into your garage?  How do you ensure no tools go walking away?  :-\

I'd be on for something like this.
I'd rather be dragging a club than clubbing in drag

Well I dont even have a garage, or else I'd say come on over. Its too bad that we have to worry about theft and such, Im sure there would be enough honest people to help protect against the dishonest.

Location is the one thing I was thinking of too. Lets talk connections then, anyone know someone that knows someone type of thing? maybe an old barn or something?

We used to hold wrenching days in the FWS all the time. Key thing though, it was members only. Trust and bond towards club members. I certainly would't even think of holding one for general public on a forum board.

I've got a very minor item to address (CB antenna mount location) that would take ten minutes to complete by people more in the know than I. That would be worth assisting others the rest of the day to me. Cold beer, Jeep chatter, new friends, etc. Excellent idea!

All the more reason to get this thing done. Any ideas on a location?
