Warn M12000 issues
« on: July 04, 2009, 05:29:15 PM »
I was using the winch today and it just stoped on me, as it turns out, on of the pins on the winch side of the controler plug broke off from corrosion. Does anybody know where I can find another plug, or something weather proof that can replace the one on the winch and the controler? Has this happenned to one of you before and if so, what is the fix?

Thanks guys,

Phil

I've looked up the wireless remote solution and at less than 150 bucks it makes a lot of sense. I'm also looking into a 5 pin military style connector they had on the old 524 radio sets( wich is old,  crusty and used and thus free-o-charge...), I have a couple of Sigs friends on base that can hook me up on that one from the ol' parts bin. For now, the winch is on the garage floor waiting for the best solution I can muster-up. I need a 5 pin because of the extra thermal load  sensor on the Power Wagon version of the M12000, keeps it from gettinig to hot I guess...

More to come.

thanks for the reply Tinkerer

Good news, dropped off the winch at a good buddies place, Jean is a EW dude on base with access to ol mil-spec connectors. Best of all, he'll do it for a favor! All I have to do is help him get rid of some crap in his yard!

Good friend to have!
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
