Winch and Battery
« on: July 12, 2009, 09:25:45 PM »
So I just finished up my winch plate today as my buddy and I started looking at wiring the winch. I figured I would do some research for my battery's sake. Warn recommends a minimum 650 CCA battery for the xd9000i.

My current battery is rated at 500 amps. If I dont get a new battery, whats gonna happen with my current battery? Is it just gonna get destroyed by the winch?

I used the stock battery for a few years with my 8274 before actually upgrading to a high output one.  Just make sure your alternator is in good shape and when winching watch your voltmeter as you will probably have to rev the engine to help the battery
