hey everyone.

i posted this on the old board a couple years ago, but never managed to get a solution. i think i had it up on 4wheeler.ca too.. can't remember, its been a long time.

anyway, i have heat. its plenty hot, and my rad works fine, got plenty of fluid ect.

it just doesn't BLOW.

the vents are VERY weak when i'm not moving, and when i go over 60kph i hear an audible 'squeek' like the vent is moving and then i get NO heat at all...

i drive all day, every day pretty much, and its getting cold.

any ideas? i don't even know where to start looking.

i took it to the dealer a year ago, told them exactly *word for word* what i posted here.

they made me sit for 4 hours, and finally came back and said  "yep, your heat is plenty hot."

i was so mad. i'm always very calm, but the guy didn't even read the work order where it said "heat not blowing out of vent" and blew an entire afternoon checking my radiator.

and then he tried to make me pay for it.

anyway... i'm not the most mechanically inclined person (i do electronics and wiring and that sorta thing, but am a quick student ;)). i'm not a newb, but since moving to Calgary, i have no tools, no garage, no where to even look at this problem. but if you can give me a suggestion of where to start, i'd appreciate it.

thanks very much.

oh yea, and does anybody know where i can buy new hinges for the doors/windshield? i don't care if they are stainless or whatever, but i can't get my doors off.... seems like they are 'rusted' on. :(

it is your blower motor if it doesn't blow at all. if it blows when only on High, there is a resistor that needs to be swapped.
thats all i know.

you can hear the fan spinning, and it makes sounds lke the air is blowing somewhere, but its not coming into the cabin area... maybe its blowing behind the dash somewhere?

but the blower motor definately works. the air just isnt' getting to me. :(

Did you check if your hood vent is plugged with leaves/mud etc?

is it blowing anywhere? like is it stuck on the feet or defrost? or just not blowing.on any of the vent settings?

it blows on all settings but is very weak.

where would i check to see if its blocked? like any good jeep owner i've buried it in mud... but its never worked, and i'm the second owner, so maybe the first guy got some crud stuck in there.

Take the vent off the top of the cowl and have a look down inside.
