As an alternative: all people offended by the statue should be required to have a pillowcase put over their head as they walk by.

funny, if the statue resembled Jesus in any way i bet it wouldn't be an issue................

maybe they should put a statue of a stick thin elephant hanging from a cross up beside it just to level things out..........

stupidest thing i've heard in a long time....................

When I work at a MAJOR North American retailer, wishing a customer :Merry Christmas" or "Happy New Year" was grounds for a write up in your personel file.

Yup, I was being sarcastic, as noted from the lower case text  :P

I'm pretty sure there are extremists in every religion.  Asking to remove the elephant is a little close minded as is telling people they can't wish someone a Merry Christmas.

Just so y'all know.  I am a Christian and I don't have a problem with the statue.  The Zoo isn't trying to impress on anyone that they need to start worshiping the elephant anyway.  I think that it is fine to believe in whatever you believe in.  I also don't think that sharing your faith is wrong in any way.  The problem is when people go to extremes and begin to think that they can judge someone else.  If you feel strongly about your faith then live it...to the fullest.  If someone else decides that that is what they want for their life then good, but condemning others will only get you conflict and possibly WAR.

God Bless Us, everyone
