96 GC limited ATC. Ok so heat and cold work great but fan blows mostly on floor. When switching between settings I can hear, and can physically see the mode door motor moving its full travel yet only slight air blows out selected setting and mostly blows on floor but it definitly changes a bit. Code 40 comes up wich i know is historic code but thats it. Any idears?

Not to be a smart arse but - did you ever get mud above the dash, it sounds like the vent is partially plugged. I cleaned a crap load of pine needles, dirt, screws, coins, ect out of my front vents (on a TJ).
