Job opening where I work

There is a job opening where I work, PFB Corporation in the NE.  PFB is a leader in manufacturing EPS foam insulation products mainly for construction purposes.  Job is IT related.  PM me if interested and I'll put you in contact with the right people.

System Training Specialist - reports to VP, Information Solution (not me )

Principle Responsibilities
The Systems Training Specialist’s role is to deliver training to computer operators in the organization about how to use various types of software programs effectively, primarily legacy ERP system, in support of business objectives. This individual is responsible for designing, delivering, and improving in-house software applications training programs and related courseware.  Outputs will include a range of documents and training programs geared for use by both technical and non-technical personnel across all departments.

Functional Responsibilities
1.   Liaise with VP, IS to define business procedures and establish documentation needs for software training.
2.   Coordinate with department heads and end users to assess departmental training needs and objectives.
3.   Develop and deliver courses for new and existing software applications, including all course materials, exercises, and skills evaluations.
4.   Travel between training locations and present instructor-led training sessions. Deliver training remotely via online means when appropriate.
5.   Create, administer, analyze, and report on end user needs assessments and skills assessments.
6.   Collaborate with systems and development staff to collect and interpret technical information.  Keep apprised of changes and upcoming developments regarding in-house software applications.
7.   Plan, design, research, write, edit and update a range of documents, including user guides and manuals, and training materials.
8.   Create and communicate training schedules in consultation with departmental decision makers.
9.   Develop and coordinate an overall software applications training curriculum for end users of all levels.
10.   Create and administer training event feedback mechanisms. Analyze results, make recommendations for training improvement, and integrate changes in curriculum and/or courses.
11.   Communicate software problems and issues to software development and support teams.
12.   Assess and recommend courseware packages, and support development of appropriate courseware tools.
13.   Conduct research into computer-based training products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
14.   Meet all safety requirements and regulations.
15.   Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) where advised.
16.   Ensure a clean work environment.

Skills & Knowledge Required
•   Proven experience with adult learning principles, methodologies, and course design techniques.
•   Hands-on technical writing and editing experience, with specific experience in documenting information technology software and systems.
•   Knowledge of information gathering, planning, and organizing methods and principles.
•   Experience with desktop publishing tools.
•   Strong understanding of document formatting and presentation techniques.

Qualities
•   Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
•   Superior attention to detail.
•   Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and interviewing skills.
•   Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.
•   Ability to absorb and retain information quickly, specifically complex technical information.
•   Ability to analyze target audience and to present ideas in user-friendly language.
•   Highly self motivated and directed.
•   Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•   Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
•   Exceptional customer service orientation.
•   Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Prerequisites
•   University degree in the field of English, Communications, Education, or Journalism. A background in information technology is necessary.
•   Minimum 10 years experience as trainer and technical writer.

Give me a few years down the road when I'm done teaching, and I'll be interested in something like this.  :)
`48 CJ2A, `54 CJ3B, `97 TJ, and 03 WJ...batting close to .500 when it comes to jeep models owned vs. jeep models created.....

I think somebody should be working as a product tester for T-Ho's instead of pulling wrenches.......
