used ax-15 with the outer slave cylinder

What did you get this out Eric??  A newer XJ??
yep, from a 1996 cherokee.
the trans jack attachment for a regualr jack is nice. but a regular jack can do it if yer carefull.
be sure to get a clutch aligning tool with clutch kit, will make life much easier.

so for this swap, do i need a different slave cylinder?  instead of the one that came with my clutch kit?  should i return this kit for another kit?   depending on the donor bellhousing? what should i be looking for?

thanks gents

Return it and get one for a 93 or newer YJ.  All the bellhousings will be the same for a YJ or XJ

I think the Jeff (gearhead) might actually have what you need

I would grind them off and them heat the nut and using vise grips work them out.
Why does your Jeep say Toyota on it?

heat them Cherry red also... (not with Propane...it's not hot enough) and use a vice grip on them... I used O2 and MAP gas mix... it heat up to 5400F... 8) It took an O2 sensor out of a 13yo Honda from the East coast like buttah

so, have tranny out.  pulled slave. it looks fine.  one thing i did notice was the 'reataining' pin or clip/nut thing that should hold the slave onto the input shaft was gone; so the slave was hanging loosely.  that be my problem?  next question is how do i attach the slave again? i've got a new pin and 'retainer' nut (came with clutch kit) should i just use it? how do you pull out the old one? just a pair of pliers i'd presume?

thanks

Congrats buddy, glad to hear you got that task all buttoned up!  :)  You'll be on the trail again in no time.  Now all you need to do is come up here and crack the whip on me so I finish putting my crap back together.  The tires are being mounted & balanced this weekend though, so I guess that sort-of counts, although it's not me turning any wrenches . . .
Are there any further modifications/repairs in the works for your YJ?

I'd slowly start sourcing out the parts to convert to an external slave.  I did a slave in august of 08 and was doing it again in feb 09.  The price difference if you can get deals on parts is also not much....  see if you can grab a junked ax15 on here so you have the bellhousing and such.
