10 Joey Weber 20:05 KOH #9
« on: February 11, 2010, 12:32:42 AM »
I'm having a hard time finding the starting line, not sure if it's officially posted yet, but I think he made it!

Go cheer on the one and only Calgary local, CJA affiliate to race in KOH!
The biggest offroad race in North America, one of our guys went to try to qualify, he made it in.
Now competing against international race teams, some of which have massive budgets.

Wish him luck, but mostly, a Safe race.

There is as few as 23 and as many as 27LCQ's advancing to the "big show" as they call it. Depends on how many no shows there are.

Looks like he placed 10'th in that pack of 23-27... so he's definitely in and w/ a pretty decent time too. I'm dyin to know if he made it up "back door" w/o winchin?

Yip, amazing time since yesterdays times were on average 10  minutes slower due to the wet stuff that fell overnight.
Everyone winched up backdoor Wednesday, at least the first part...

There were some guys who made it Tuesday... but yes... under drier conditions. Even dry... Its amazing to see a rig climb what looks like a 10' tall near vertical ledge  :o

There were a lot of DNF's.
It looked like his start was #9 on the grid. i bet he has some great stories of some of the weller known racers that eventually passed him.

Congrats Joey. It must have been the best adrenalin rush ever. :)
