Engine Light
« on: January 16, 2006, 07:08:59 PM »
My jeep was in for work on the rad today and the service tech left the temperature gage disconnected from the thermostat. When it was reconnected I noticed the engine light is now on. I was in a rush and did not have time to wait. The tech at the shop said that if the battery is disconnected it will reset the system and the light will go out. How long does it need to be disconnected for?? Do I need to do anything else to reset the system??

Thanks for any info,
Blair

I learned how to get the code out of the system by turning the key on and off three times. The fault code was p118 for the temp sensor. The engine light has now gone out.

Thanks,
