Heaviest Spare On Stock Carrier

When I get my $400 I’m getting some new steel rims with proper backspacing, and I was wondering if my YJ's going to be able to hold the 33 12.50 on the back with a steel rim or is this going to put too much stress on the hinges?  I currently don't have a spare on the back because the backspacing on the Canyon rims wont let me.

PS 5 TJ Canyon rims will be available soon any interest?

I have seen up to a 36" swamper on the stock carrier, HOWEVER, you might have to extend your 3rd brake light and put a tire as big as a 36" swamper can damage the door when open

From all the weight of my spare on my stock carrier, my rear door does not close properley now.  Its actually bend the hinges, and bent the door.

So is it just the YJ has a weak hinge?  Would it not be smart to have it on the back or just leave off untill I can afford a bumper mounted carrier?

Can you put it on but just don't use the door, TJs are the same.  I have seen a lot of guys running 33s on a stock carrier.

The guy that had the 36" swamper turned a drop hitch receiver upside down and used that to support the tire
