McLean Trail project - May 29
« on: April 23, 2010, 09:39:39 PM »
On Saturday, May 29, we will be finishing a project in McLean that was started last fall on Bypass trail.

I know many people want to come out and help, but volunteers will be limited this day due to the amount of heavy machinery work that needs to be done and the very little amount of fencing to be done.

Volunteers can pm me. Members will get first dibs for volunteer spots for this day.

There is another fun event this day as well that I would encourage people to take in. There will also be another trail project later in May where we will need lots of volunteers to come.

So, you have many people coming out and are just stating the fact? or are you needing volunteers?

Stating a fact.  I have a had about 8 individuals say they would come.  We only need 3 or 4 people to do the actual work and we don't need extra people kicking around while the heavy equipment is trying to get things done.

That's good news! :)
Having a interest in volunteering is going to be crucial for the necessary projects needed to be done in Maclean.

Hopefully the trend of having too many volunteers continues. 8)

Having too many is NEVER a problem. Its when you have too few that it starts to suck when its the same ole people volunteering ;)

Due to the amount of snow, this weekends trail project has been postponed until May 29.

We are on for finishing the trial project on Saturday, May 29.  We will meet at the store at 9:30 with the clean up crew.

By the looks of the weather, it is going to sloppy.

Please bring:
  • the appropriate footwear and outerwear
  • gloves
  • hand tools for fencing

Plan is to put the fence posts in first (approx 16) and then wire while the culverts start to go in.

We need someone with a pickup or trailer to grab some material from the SRD yard.

20 posts and 12 rails.

Any takers?
