The last set of RE's I used were aluminum.
Second week the guy had them in the split and proceeded to walk the axle off the leaf.
Depends on how you wheel though. If you arent going to wheel that hard, they woud probably be fine.
Between that, and the fact that with xj's shtty suspension bias, the rear doesnt move much, you might be alright.
Personally, I wont put them in for people, thats just me. What ever you do, dont forget to re torque your ubolts.
Aluminium?!! That's just not right...the RE ones I got were steel...I don't think I'd trust the Alu ones too far either.
