Need part numbers
« on: February 04, 2006, 08:34:45 PM »
I'm trying to do the full cluster swap, but i still need the oil pressure and coolant temperature sender for it.  Not knowing the numbers, i went to partsource (who entered everything correctly) and got wrong parts.

Does anyone know some good companies who make these and the part #'s to them? Or should i grab them from a dealership?

Thanks guys.

Sorry , dont know any numbers. But I'd definately recommend you try auto value before the dealership.

They seem to be  lot better then partsource with numbers and part availability.

good luck

You are swapping out the "dummy lights" to the guages, correct?

Give these a try, all are for 4.0l

I picked up this part but i still need the coolant sender.  The thing that's throwing me off is that is says 89 Comanche, but from what i understand the Comanche only came with idiot lights. Is this true?

Thanks for the replies guys

I have full guages in my Comanche, you can have a gander if you like.  By the way, your Comanche is the perfect color, just like mine 8) .

Alright, i've got Niehoff's OP24731 as the oil pressure and Niehoff's TS25451 for coolant temp.

That look right? Where does that oil pressure sender go? I havn't found something that looks like that yet.

Oil pressure sender (big one) should be right above and next to the oil filter on the passenger side of the 4.0L. The small one looks to me like the temp sender, which is on the driver's side back corner of the block just below the edge of the valve cover and under your FI stuff.

I had a messed up temp gauge, and found the Jeep has 3 temp sensors. One for the coolant temp in the thermostat housing, this sends coolant temp to the computer and has a 2-pin connector plug. One for the intake air temperature screwed into the top of the intake manifold (obviously,) this also has a 2-pin connector plug. And one (the temp sending unit) to send the motor's temp to the gauge, this has just a single post connector.

My gauge problem turned out to be just a loose wire on the sending unit.

i still cannot find this oil pressure sender. I've looked almost everywhere but kind find anything that looks the same.

Does the one in there now look different than in the one in the picture?

If anyone has, or can take, a shot of where it is it'd be appreciated.

Shouldn't look too different, but I've never really looked hard at an engine with just lights and not gauges. It should be very obvious, above the oil filter and sticks out perpendicular from the block. Single wire attached.

Here's a pic I found of one in a Cherokee. You can see the distributor and oil filter in the pic.

This pic shows the style you bought uninstalled, and a smaller one installed. Original site is here: http://www.industryfigure.com/berkeley/Jeep/

Okay, i've seen that other one.  I thought that was it, but it didn't look the same.  Thanks redbull, now my gauges will work properly.
