Pallets are full of nails... there is no need for that in the backcountry.

they sell wood at the camp site because you need a permit to harvest wood on public land (it''s like $12)...


I would not risk to hack up a dead stand on May long week-end at Mclean... Please be that guy. If you do; please do it in front of the SRD or RCMP... if you gonna do something stupid might as well do it right. :-[

I thought you just needed the permit to cut it and haul it to your residence.  If you cut what you need while camping I didn't think you needed a permit. ??

You can not cut anything. Deadfall is a big No no as it adds value to the forest floor. The only way you can cut is with a permit and i think there are restrictions on how close to a roadway you can cut.
