« on: May 18, 2010, 08:25:16 PM »
Just saw this on kijiji.  Worth the price?
sounds pretty well custom all around.  A 4.2L fuel injected?

Nope, if it was a scam, the selling price would be 29 HUNDRED dollars.

But it has 4 water bottle holders
Why does your Jeep say Toyota on it?

It's nice to dream... 29K for a 1989 Jeep...

You can get something better in the States now for 1/3 of the price.

Next time ask him if it has ever been offroaded because if it has, that knocks easy $15-20K off the price

I dont see one person posting here running even half of the tech, fab or dollars that went into that jeep.

Yet I see everyone talking crap.

So you realize, for you to drop that jeep with me and have it built to those specs would run you upwards of 50k labor and parts included.

National or modern would run you into 70-80.

Not sure I see the reason behind the smack talk...........

  A 4.2L fuel injected?

This is most likely his injection. This rig has a lot of 1000$ touches.

I went online and got a few ballpark prices for some of the parts the rig is running, most of these quotes are just rough estimates so please keep that in mind. Also I wasn't able to find any option I could select in my online shopping cart that would make these parts install themselves?

Coilovers all around $2k
Swaybars $600
Tires - $1500
Rims $1000
Winch - $800
Seats - $1000
Dana 44's, with full re-work - $2000
Re-worked D300 with 4:1 - $1200

Check out this ad, can you believe it? The guy wants $40,000 for a 1956!! What an idiot eh?

We should never post up the real prices for a build... it makes me sad :P :P :P   Just thinking of the cash sitting on jackstands in my garage!

I remember hearing somehwere that you get a return of about 0.20 cents for every dollar you invest into your vehicle (provided it is done right).

That rings about true on cars/jeeps I have modified and then sold later on... yeah, it makes me sad  :'(
I wanted a Jeep... but the wife gave me a Hummer!

i didn't know you were a diehard Flyers fan???? You are as grumpy as i am this week. ;)

Unfortunately, as you know, it doesn't matter what is into it, its what it is worth to someone buying it. My rubi was well over 50 and i took 27.
Sad.
Also, if you visit Pirate, some SICK rigs, better built, can be had for less (as you know).
If the owner of that jeep was on this site, i doubt any comments would have been made.
