Congrats CJA

Well - first day back after the long weekend - turned on the news in the morning before heading to work.

They only mentioned McLean Creek for maybe 30 seconds which I saw.   :D

That HAS to be 'cause for celebration!  no (or very little anyways) news is good news right? 8)

i visited mclean on saturday afternoon. nice drive. wasnt crazy at all. RCMP and SRD in full force. watched a few tickets get handed out. 2 guys got dui's for drinking and driving on a trail. not sure how it looked out there at the end of the weekend, but im sure some cleanup will be needed this coming weekend. id even go so far as to say that 9 out of 10 atv/dirt bike riders were wearing helmets.
incase anyone was curious, the RCMP and SRD were very polite and friendly. even to those they were giving tickets to.
i think some education on this sport/hobby is needed for some of the younger folk. helps keep the trails safer and less damage. not to mention having some kid in a lifted tj say to me, "you need a 4 inch", kinda makes me cringe a little. another kid stopped me saying that i shouldnt go down that road  cause his buddy with a 6inch and 35's got stuck and rcmp are all over the place... hmmm... he was driving a toyota though...
im sure mclean creek did just fine this year. nothing to report, nothing to worry about :)

Monday on Global news hour they did a little clip on mclean creek talking about all the damage and tickets that were given out, and theres about a 2 second clip of an rcmp talking to me in my white jeep on the side of the road. The reporter is talking about how more police and stricter rules helped keep it better this year, the only funny thing is the clip is of me at mclean creek in my Tj LAST year. And the RCMP officer and i were just shootin the sh!t. So apparently it was tame enough this year they had to pull out some of last years footage lol.

Global writes stories before they go out, and all they look for is interviews and video/pics to supplement their story.

their stories are always stupid. this year it was SRD angry about putting out smouldering ashes in CLEAN campsites, and last year, it was a bunch of ranchers that were fumed off becuase their cattle couldn't roam/eat/crap/destroy the ground for free.

they get prepped for worst case scenarios, can't find anything and just need something to fill the space.

I was happy to not read negative article after negative article in the papers this year, saves me firing up my letter campaign....

BUT, as someone who was out there all weekend, I thought it was a bloody sh!t show! 90% 17-18 yr olds out celebrating graduation in Sunfires, Civics, and Cavaliers.

I agree,  in some areas there was a whole lot of younger people.
