ok well this is bad news for all of you

i am heading out of town for work on friday , i willl not be able to lead you guys out

but i hope you all have a safe and fun saturday . enjoy . and hopefully someone else shows up that knows the trails and can make sure you have a great day

That's a bummer. Anyone else know the trails? I'm not that familiar with the area yet. . .

If there is a group of you, get a map(s) and go exploring.  Stay on the 4x4 trails, have basic recovery gear to pull each other out when needed and you should be good to go.

Trail maps are available online and at the store.  There may even be some at some of the trail kisoks.

Don't be afraid to explore the trails.  That's part of the fun  :)

if you go exploring, be careful.  get out and check holes, pick lines, etc.  nobody wants to see (well i'd be cool) let me rephrase, nobody wants to pull a dead jeep out of a bomb hole they didn't bother to check before driving in. its also not a problem to turn around on a trail if its too tough.   been there; done that.

that being said, stay on trails on the maps, and have fun!

ooooohhhhhhh snap! Guess I set myself up for that one. Didn't say I couldn't find the trails, just don't know all of them that well and thought someone may have an inside track on a less busy one for the long weekend :). If I missed the group in the parking lot, I was planning on asking one of the many long-weekenders out there if there was a train of jeeps going around to help me find the group. Part of the misery of having to work right up to the ride I guess.

I'd like to go check on an abandoned vehicle, get the VIN and scope out a turnaround spot for a car hauler trailer...
Won't take too long, then hit up a nearby trail?

Good ride today. If someone knows the contact info for the guy in the green sahara unlimited JK who was there, can they pass it along to me? We were going to touch base at the end of the day about a bumper/winch combo but didn't end up chatting about it. Thanks
