I hav the programer from superchips, and what do you mean by "electronic throttle ramped ".

The "throttle" on a JK does not actualy control the flow of fuel and air into the engine. The gas pedal is just how you ask the computer (politely) to add more fuel and air so that you can have some power.  ???

By "ramping up" the throttle or putting on one of the "sprint booster" devices, you amplify the throttle position signal that reaches th computer...in essence, the computer responds to your request for fuel and air faster and more aprubtly. Doing this won't get you any extra power, and will likely hurt your fuel economy...but it may provide a perceived increase in performance according to your "butt dyno".  :-[

is a realy mini van engin in the jeep JK?

that is so stuped that they did that......

Oh and would you go with NGK spark plugs?


They did it because it was a tested and relatively reliable engine that was appropriately sized for the jk and was fuel efficient enough to meet modern requirements...of course it is not ideal but to me this is better than a) a new unproven design  or b) paying a lot more for the jk due to it's fancy new engine or c) ???

They don't sell enough jks to warrant designing an engine just for this platform (yet)

I am happy with the stock jk engine...not wowed but if I wanted a hot rod I wouldn't have bought a jeep...as a seat of the pants comparo, the stock jk (manual) feels more powerful than a manual 4.0 litre XJ with stock (bad) gearing but feels less powerful than a TJ with 4.0 and 4.10's
