XJ rear add-a-leaf lift
« on: February 18, 2006, 06:36:50 PM »
I just bought a 3" lift for my xj, add-a-leaf in the rear and coils in the front (used from Jeepstuff). Some the stock rear leafs were broke but some were still good I was just wondering if when I'm putting the add-a-leaf in my spring pack if I could also put some of the extra stock leaves in from the other set as well for extra lift or would it be a waste of my time? should I just go for the add-a-leaf and blocks?

If I do put more leaves in or blocks I'll need to get a couple of coil spacers, any one know of a place to get them here in Calgary?

I know I've been a pest on the CJA site lately with all my questions but bear with me.

Thanks
Scott

Adding a block to the XJ pack shortens  their life span quite dramacticaly. I had 1" lift blocks in mine and a year and a half later the main leafs had broken. Cracked across where the hole for the center pin was.

Adding leafs will give more lift but also give a stiffer/harsher ride.

If you only want a bit more lift shackles would be the way to go.

Modern and National 4WD here in Calgary would both sell spacers and shackles.

I have gotton some excellent pricing from North Shore Offroad as well.
